What are Dr. Balcavage’s Credentials?

Dr. Balcavage is a Functional Medicine Practitioner and Doctor of Chiropractic. He received his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Kutztown University. His post doctorate education and training is extensive in both Functional Medicine and Nutrition. He has spent hundreds of hours advancing his knowledge base on functional medicine, functional neurology, blood chemistry, thyroid physiology, immune system and gastrointestinal function, hormone function, methylation and other chronic metabolic challenges.

Is Dr. Balcavage a medical doctor?

No, he is not a Medical Doctor. He is a Functional Medicine Practitioner and Doctor of Chiropractic. His post doctorate education and training is extensive in both Functional Medicine and Nutrition. As such, he does not practice medicine or diagnose and/or treat diseases and medical conditions. His practice focuses on promoting health and optimal function. His advice and expertise as a Functional Medicine Practitioner is not meant to substitute or replace those of a medical doctor. His programs and coaching work in conjunction with your current medical provider.

Does Dr. Balcavage prescribe medications?

No. He does not prescribe prescription medications or other controlled substances. Your prescribing medical doctor will manage and adjust any current medications you may be taking. In combination with dietary changes and nutrition, he uses supplements and other lifestyle changes to improve health and quality of life.

Does Rejuvagen accept insurance?

Rejuvagen is an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid. All services at Rejuvagen are considered elective and are an out-of-pocket expense. You may receive partial reimbursement according to your policy after you meet your out-of-network deductible. Since all insurance plans vary, it is your responsibility to call your insurance provider to inquire about reimbursement. If requested, a superbill will be provided for office visits which you can then submit to your insurance provider.

Do you work with out of state patients?

Yes, we offer long-distance consultations, both national and international, via phone or video chat (Zoom) for those who live outside of the area. Rejuvagen has worked with patients across the United States, Canada, South America, and Europe.

How can I learn if I am a good candidate for your office?

The best way to determine if you would be a good candidate for Functional Medicine or our office is to schedule an initial free 15-minute phone evaluation. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about your particular health concerns, goals for care and gives you the opportunity to answer any questions you may have regarding our office. Please note we will not review your medical records until you become an established new patient.
